ABOUT OUR EXECUTIVE CHEF:
Growing up in Western Colorado, Debra Sims was surrounded by the fresh ingredients that were foraged daily on walks, hikes and bike rides in the majestic Uncompahgre Valley … little did she know that these habits would instill the foundation of her most beloved passion. Upon realizing her culinary calling, she worked her way from Prep Cook to Line Cook to Sous Chef to Pastry Chef and beyond … In 2010, she was introduced to Mariano Molteni, founder of Maro Wood Grill in Laguna Beach. Soon after meeting, they realized that they had the same goal … to provide organic, responsible, sustainable cuisine at its finest to Orange County locals and tourists alike. Leading the exhibition-style kitchen with her mastery of wood-fired grilling, accolades have been given for “Best Burger in Laguna Beach” from Laguna Beach Patch and the coveted “Most Delicious Dessert in Orange County” from the Golden Foodie Awards in 2013, 2014 & 2015.
